July 2012

Welcome to the 2012 edition of July!

This month, we plan to regale you with tales of trips, birthday celebrations, the meeting of friends old and new, and (hopefully) lots and lots of photos.

So here we are in the seventh month of the year.
[How did that happen!?]
In a few days I'll have hit the three-year mark at my current job.
Three Years.
Like Whoa.

And yea there ends the significance of the month of July. :)
This will be an extremely busy month for me, and I'm looking forward to it.
I really hope this month marks a change in life for me.
I don't know how, but I know God does.
And that's all that matters right?

today.

today. nothing happened.

I mean of course things happened.
But nothing of consequence.
Or blog worthy.
.......
Other than maybe stepping outside of my house, at eight in the morning and finding the church roof next door crawling with men.
That was a bit disturbing.

Or embarrassing myself at McDonald's by refusing to take my order, because I assumed the woman had got it wrong. Its a long complicated story as to why I got to that point, one that I don't feel like getting into. Should you see me in person, I might feel inclined into going into detail, but at the moment I don't.
So quit asking.

Or finding out I will be redoing a project that I've been working on for four months now. From scratch.
As my boss would say "job security!"
Yeah.
Oops. I meant YEAH!

That looks better. More enthusiastic.

Or the fact that I found out I got two free downloads from Audible.com instead of the one I was originally expecting. SCORE! I know its not overly "cool" to listen to books on tape, but I love it. I listen to books at work, when I'm driving, as I'm cleaning the house, training the dogs, exercising.. ok fine so I don't exercise, much, but IF I were too, I would listen than too.

It does cut into my book reading time, but ya know..

I digress.
Can you digress from a random topic?

Who cares.

The End.

...Is There Such a Thing..

{VIA}
As social media stalking?
There are times when joining a new social media site, I hesitate "add" or "follow" people that I'm following on..well everything.

Facebook
Blogger
Twitter
GoodReads
FourSquare
Pinterest
Instagram
Google+
Hanging With Friends
Words with Friends
......

The list could go on and on, (quite the social internet butterfly aren't I?) yet there are times when I see a follow...social media "friend" and I wonder, just what they think when they see MY name appear once again.  I suppose to disclaim, if I follow you, perhaps I like your taste in things. I will admit that if I know you in person, that yes I'll probably add you to any and everything, as we can discuss the things I "pin" or "post" or "tweet" about in real life. Do I get followed from place to place? I can't really say for sure, I'm on a loooooot of websites; and to be honest I haven't noticed a huge trend from ONE particular person.

What about you? Do you feel as if you are "stalking" your fellow Social Mediaist?
(Yeah I just made up that word.)

Lies I Tell Myself

"This blog is about me, for me, by me."
"I don't really care if I'm not a popular blogger"

Perhaps lies is a strong word to use, but the truth is I want to believe those statements so badly.. but I can't. Its not that I WANT to be a "popular" blogger, in the sense of having tons of followers and comments, but more so that I was hoping this blog would spark a community OUTSIDE of me being a puppy raiser.

My puppy raising blogs have a large following, and have stayed pretty active mainly because its an easy thing to relate too. I've formed friendships through my puppy raising blog that I've been able to maintain throughout the years that I've been doing this, and its been great!

I guess I was looking more so for that with this blog as well...

Personal blogs are harder, because the content is going to be much more subjective to the authors life style, and likes and dislikes.

Then on the other side, I feel disloyal to my friends in "real life", shouldn't they be enough? Why aren't they "enough"?  Don't get me wrong, they are, I love the girls in my life at the moment, God placed them there and I plan to do NOTHING to push them away.

BUT.

Maybe that's why I don't have a big "internet" following. Perhaps I just need to focus on them and forget trying to be the next internet sensation.

...cause we all know I'm too lazy to make that happen...!

I realize I can't make people like me, and perhaps that is another reason as too why I don't have more of a kinship, I refuse to do things JUST to get people to "like me". When I feel myself going in that direction, I back off my blogs. If you don't like who I am now, than tough.

(or so I tell myself)

Could I improve in some areas? Sure.
In the words of the Volunteers Head Football Coach, Derrick Dooley "What is the smallest room? A Mushroom. What is the biggest room? Room for Improvement."

However, I get the feeling that my main focus needs to be on things outside of the internet. Ultimately that is what will matter.

The End.

Life as I know it...

Here's the thing, I love my family you know? They're really great peoples once you get to know them. (ducks a shoe comes flying from nowhere) But here's the thing, we're not so great about the whole "communication" thing.

I don't tell them what I'm doing, they don't tell me what they're doing; and we're ok with that... except when things like this happen. (paraphrased a bit)

Me: So did you guys get a lot of stuff moved into the new house?
Them (one of them): Yeah all the beds are over there.
Me: Aw so are you guys going to spend the night over there now?
Them: YEAAAh...we kinda of don't have any beds at this house.
Me: Oh ok.
Them: We're going to have the internet guy come out Monday and hook that up.
Me: Cool. Me: ... Wait so that means you're shutting down the internet here? (which I'm stealing as I can pick it up all the way at my house) TOMORROW!??
Them: Um yess I think so.
Me: (note not yelling just a wee bit panicky) BUT..BUT..YOU'RE NOT EVEN GOING TO BE HERE FOR THE WEEK!?! (another suprise..they are going leaving town for the week)
Them: Oh! I'm sorry! I don't know what you're going to do.
Me: <gaping>  What am *I* supposed to do?!

While I knew this was going to happen at some point, I didn't realize/no one informed me that they were moving for real, for real (they've been working at this for about a month or two now) this weekend or I would have........probably...done nothing since I'm flat broke (hence why the whole stealiage of the parental units internet).

What is the point of this post?
I know you're wondering, with good reason.

None really, more of just an this-cant-be-happening-right-before-school-starts-brain-dump.

If I go to school this semester.

But I'm not stressing about that. No Sirree.

Not stressed at all.

*whistles*

Back to the point though: I need my internet!! Honestly what else does one do with nothing else to do?

Read a book? Cook? Clean my house? Train my dogs? Psht. Parish the thought.

I'm going to bed.

You Know what??

The best part of living by myself...?

Getting to eat whatever I want..when I want.

For instance...the other morning, I wanted to eat four waffles instead of the customary two...and I did!
Other times, I might want to eat my dessert twice or three times during the day, (one per meal you see) and I can!
Today for instance I wanted to eat TWO Ice cream bars, and I could!

If I were at home, do you know the UPROAR that would be caused?! You would think my siblings had the worlds greatest amounts of self control for the squawking that would go on.
autumn and i four years ago...she was 5?
Also could some please tell me I look older than 16 now?
I was 16 here..I don't stillll look this young right!??!
"Did...did you just eat FOUR WAFFLES!? MOOOOOOOOM, DO YOU KNOW HOW MANY WAFFLES ERIN JUST GOT!?!! (as if my mother could/would do anything to me at this age haa)

What they really mean is:

"YOU JUST ate FOUR waffles, meaning I HAVE to eat only TWO, and that is NOT FAIR!"

Yeah. As if I was going to share "MY" food with them in the first place!? Really!?

Funny thing is, my nine-year-old sister, still thinks the 'rents care that I what I consume....

Actually I take that back.

My mom would definitely have something to say about that, and my father would want to know if it was there food. Other than that they wouldn't.

Eh.

What they don't know won't hurt them...

Right?
haha my brothers four years ago. MAN they were cute back then.. :)

Miscellany Monday: Bullet Points Ad Nauseam

Its Monday (barely) so I, once again, have a valid excuse for being my normal random self. So lets start at the beginning shall week.
  1. Its a beautiful day in the neighborhood.....
    • Its was about 1:00 pm when we first heard the sirens. It wasn't the typical long drawn out wail, but more of a "whoop-whoop" every couple of minutes. I was standing on the porch with my neighbor-friends at the time, and walked into the yard to see if we could see anything. Not seeing a single car on the road, we resumed our conversation...only to interrupted again. This went on for another 30 minutes, at 5-10 minute intervals, before I went back inside. A couple of hours later I was back at their house, and this time we could see police cars pulled up to a house a couple of houses down. We mused to ourselves a bit, but its not unusual to see the police at that house (we thought) and we went on about our business. Rob and I went to class, had a perfectly horrid time, (ah life with baby-puppies) and left class early before they kicked us out. As we were drew closer to my house, I noticed the police cars were NOT lined up at the house we originally assumed but at the nice neat house next to it. (Ah lack of zoning laws. Gotta love it) I tucked that little nugget and went home to get ready for Church that evening. (So ok this was Wednesday) When the police were STILL their after Church got out around 8ish..9ish..who knows, we knew this wasn't a robbery or domestic violence case. And as it turns out we were correct, though it took a while to get the story arranged right, the news reported the bodies found, two houses down from my own humble abode, were from a murder and suicide. Apparently this couple hadn't been getting along for years, and one stabbed the other and then the murderer overdosed on drugs.
      • Honestly its extremely sad, I mean how do you get to the point where you are SO un-happy with your life and with your companion that you are willing to let yourself do something so heinous?
        • So that was the drama of last week.
  2. In less Tragic News...
    • I have decided that there are some foods that just aren't "left-over meal" materials. Coming from a family of eight, you are conditioned from a young age to make large portions of everything. Moving out on my own, I quickly realized that I could NOT eat as much as I was used to making, and just how I could NOT eat the same thing seven days in a row. My already picky menu decreased several notches during my first year on-my-own.
      • Box or Stove Top Macaroni & Cheese (as of this week I've thrown out two containers. It jus doesn't re-heat good at all. blegh. Puke. gag.)
        • Baked Mac & Cheese is doable.
      • Fresh Salsa (it just is weird. Believe me Probably the lack of preservatives etc..)
      • Homemade Burgers (dry out really easily.)
        • Restaurant Burgers are ok.
    • I'm sure I'll think of others, but at the moment I could throw all of the above out of my fridge and not blink twice about it. However I hate, hate, hate, wasting food/money so I'll force it down. As long as it doesn't have any green fuzzy decor.....
  3. My wish list is getting longer by the day.....
    • At number one we have a Piano... if you don't know, I've been playing this lovely instrument since I was six? Took 10 years in lessons, can play fairly well by ear, and I reguarly play at church yada yada yada. However, lack of practice does not a good pianist make; not having a piano where I can practice easily isn't good. So I'm looking for either a nice studio upright piano like my parents have, or even a spinit. I would Loooooooooooove to have a Grand or even a Baby-Grand. I would literally die. I used to ask my parents for one, and could never understand why everyone died laughing at my suggestion. I mean yeah I know you guys said it cost a lot, but I was thinking in the $2,000-5,000 range. That was until last year, when my friends and I decided to walk into a piano store.
      • Um...those things are like $35,000.
        • And that's the CHEAP ones.
          • Could have knocked me over with a feather.
            • So I'll settle for even a nice electric piano.
            • However a car comes first.
    • Next would be New Glasses
      • Our local mall has a Eye-Docter/Lens/Glasses whatever and the current deal is $20 eye exam and buy one get one free on their glasses. Any brand. Having worn my current pair for iono four years now? Its time for some new ones. I also want some fashionable prescription sunglasses so I can look "cool" like everyone else. haha. I wanna a complete change from what I have currently, but am scared to commit my money towards such a venture at the moment.
    • Studio Lights ( I know, I know, not the "correct" terminology but you get the gist of it)
    • Canon 7D or Sony Alpha 850
      • Yeah. When I'm rollin in the big bucks
    • Another 50mm, 24-70mm, 70-400mm, 35mm, *sigh*
    • Fix my cavity ridden teeth.
      • How is it, I can go through child hood, have minimal cavities (with minimal brushing) but the INSTANT i become and "adult" and responsible take care of my teeth DAILY (granted I also increased my sugar intake) My mouth is full of this plague!?!? Not to mention they all held off until I was OFF of my parents insurance..!?
        • Grr.
  4. Its Finals Week
    • And of COURSE I should be studying, but I'm all studyed out at the moment. The end is in sight, I can taste it, I can touch it, I can feel it ..(think sunshine and blue skies) and its nearly impossible to concentrate on the important things at the moment.
  5. Still.No.Car.
    • Its coming. I can feel it. I've got the money. I just need the right price.
  6. Goals for the upcoming summer would be...
    • Get another part time job...preferably one that will allow me to bring the Robsters
    • See #5
    • Save up money for the TWO trips I'm planning to take this year.
      • Man. Just remembered I might have another I'll "HAVE" to go on. ssiigghhhh.
        • Having three dogs can be very expensive at times.
    • Buy More Clothes
  7. Twitter Randomness
    • 4 of 5 stars to A Daughter's Inheritance by Tracie Peterson
    • 4 of 5 stars to A Surrendered Heart by Tracie Peterson
    • Time to make a list and check it at least, twice.
    • Ugh...really Windows? This would have "never" happened on a Mac
    • omw. Seriuosly!? RT @fearfuldogs: dumb dog leash tinyurl.com/3mw8jfv what IS our problem?
    • Why yes, I am completely changing the topic for my final that was due yesterday. Again. To the original topic.
    • "Are we turning our kids into Tech Zombies?"
    • Has a nice ring to it don'tcha think?
    • Today, 8-18 year-olds devote an average o! f 7 hours and 38 minutes to using entertainment media across a typical day..#researching
    • Technology Free Family Live to Tell the Tale: bit.ly/ecAbC8
    • RT @thinkgeek: WOW. 100,000+ toothpicks, 3,000 hours, & gallons of Elmer's glue later: San Francisco kinetic sculpture j.mp/hZuD7c
    • I mean really. There are some days when you DON'T wanna know what people are thinking and they put it on FB anyway. !!!!?
    • Change the World with Words - for Dogs and All | Dancing Dog Blog bit.ly/gjMXvH
    • Dear Pinterest I wanna join the party!? Please send me an invite soooooon!

The End.
Good Bye for a week.
Probably.

ADDICTED!

Dear Chrome,
*ahem*
First of all, I want to thank you for, giving me yet ANOTHER tool in which to avoid homework/anything-unpleasant/bedtime with. As the clock blinks 12:19AM here I am still trying to defeat the medium level of "Poppit".

Oh yes. Poppit.
The game you decided to insert in your tabs menu, to taunt me everytime I open a new tab. I can still remember that first fateful day, that I decided find out what Chrome's new "web apps" were all about.

Had I known what I know now, I would not have done/do what I do now.
It's almost borderline obsessive.

I start out hopeful, clicking colored balloons happily. Getting all manner of wonderful presents (I was so about to write pressies. My dog blogs are starting to get to me.) And then suddenly you are at this screen!
And I know I have to try one.more.time...30 minutes later, I may have gotten ONE of these happy little screens...
Which then lures you into this false sense of empowerment and you find yourself clicking on that 'New Game" confident.."If I can do it once, I can do it again.
An hour later I realize what a waste of time this is and stomp away from my computer........

Only to click on it as soon as I sit back down again.

Hi...my name is Erin....and I'm addicted to Poppit.
*HI ERIN*

Thank's for nothing Chrome.

November 22: Posting about Posting

I’m about two hours into my work day, and have completed my morning activities for the most part. My next thought, of course, was thinking up a blog post for the 22nd of November. For some of you, blogging comes easily; you seem to have no problem, coming up with a topic, blogging about that one.topic and sounding very intelligent and put together about that one.topic.

You must know, some of us sit in the audience and weep over our lack of fluidity.  (I was so about to write flowativity #lame) In my defense, I am very much random like this in real life…I am what I am.

After going back and forth between, being completely random, and only somewhat random, I think I’ve decided to go with…a topical post.

Come back tomorrow and it may just be completed.
No ok, fine I’m going to try this.

First Pick A Topic:

*2 hours later….

YeahNo. I’ve got nothing.

No, that’s not true, I have about a gazillion things I wanted to write about but am hesitant, due to the whole…staying-on-one-topic-and-making-sense-while-doing-it, thing. That and I don’t want to offend…in the sense that people never want to speak to me again offended. It’s also hard to also convey your words in a text format, the way YOU want them to be taken. However if it takes getting people offended in order to get comments….I may be willing to do that.

I’m a very hard person to offend…probably because I’m so busy trying to analyze why the person is trying to offend me, that I miss the offensive statement. But…just because I’m not offended, doesn’t mean that I like what you did or didn’t say to me. And more often than not, I’ll let you know.  In a very nice, quiet but firm way. I’ve learned the hard way that attitudes grow quickly if things are allowed to simmer.

Sure, I’ve done my share of offending, my habit of not thinking before I speak, or being overly sarcastic… has gotten me in trouble many a time…and God and I are working on that little personality trait. But there are some people who I just can’t not offend, and in one sense I have given up trying with them. “If you don’t know who I am by now, we’re never going to get anywhere”.

Then I get around people who aren’t trying. At all.

And I go back to the drawing board and work on another plan to “keep Erin from offending someone”.

Yes I’m all for you being yourself, but if that means hurting and putting down other people..then no thank you. Plus it is my belief that that’s not the real “you” coming out. Any who, but that’s another topic.

Things that will offend me: Talking bad about my family, putting down my feelings about something, devaluing my opinions about things, talking bad about disabled people. Those are things that I more than likely will not be happy about, and probably will have to spend some serious “God Time” before approaching you again. Just…keepin it real.

Other subjects will make my blood pressure rise, but I can discuss them without getting angry or upset about it, mainly because I can understand the motive on the other side of the argument.

Eh.Sort of.

Abortion, Gay Marriage, Dog Training Techniques, Religion, Politics…TSA Pat Downs, just to name a few..However talking to other people about these things, is almost impossible if they are not “on your side”. Here’s a funny fact: people get angry very.very.easily. I feel strongly about every.single. one of these topics, but not enough to get angry/offended about it.
Anger. In my opinion. Is an extremely useless emotion. Seriously what good comes out of being angry? Tell me that, and perhaps I’ll subscribe to that feeling more often. But Probably not.

One hour of work to go…

You really don’t want to know how many times I’ve deleted and re-written this post at this point. However I knew I needed to post about something besides school.

Have I stayed on topic? Who knows. I do know that I need to get off of here so I can go home and rob my account to pay my bills.

Gragh.

Money is another topic I need to write about.

Peace Peoples.

miscellany Monday

Miscellany Monday @ lowercase letters
{1} It was cold this morning. Like my neighbors/friend/roommates sister called to let us know that fact, which of course I'd already discovered as I ran the dogs out for the morning potty break. Yep! According to the radio it was 46 this morning. And as I look at my computer it says its.....gee only 54!!

{2} Oh this weather fills me with nostalgia. I'll admit, there are times when I miss my family deeply. The way we were before, together in one house, busy, but still close to each other. Now its like we're in two different worlds. Its not bad, but I miss the carefree feeling. Amazing what three little years will change!

{3} While I'm not a fan of fall weather at.all. I am a fan of fall food, and clothes! Hence my sudden obsession for new boots. I practically live in boots during the fall/winter. For now I have three pairs in my collection.

{4} Speaking  of boots... I went with boots #1 cause the other boots I really wanted (#4) were out of stock, and I can't remember what was up with boots #2. But rest assured, if I stick to my budget this month, I will reward my self with another pair!

{5} I've also revamped (as in re-formatted not redid) my 101 N 1001 list. I'm up to 30 out of 101 pretty good. But defiantly need to step it up! This week I'm working on my daily water intake and perhaps, getting up earlier than I normally do. *gulp*

{6} New recipes for this month will be "Baked Potato Soup" and "Spinach and Artichoke Dip". Both are favorites of mine at O'Charley's and Applebees, and I'm dying to see if I can recreate a version that I like! Adding to my list of things I can make as well. And checking off another part of my 101-N-1001!

{7} I haz cute puppies.

{8} Bad news is...looks like I"m headed to court after all for my citations. oh wait. I didn't tell you about those did I? Oops! Well a little thing really, expired tag and no proof of insurance. Cause in my home-state, they never asked for proof of insurance, so we never knew to carry it. But I got two of them in like three weeks. #notcool But it was recommended that I show them I have (will) taken care of my tag ($60 for a STICKER!!!!! AH) and did have insurance at the date of the accident/ticket and PERHAPS i can get off with just paying the court fees ($96.50 seriously!?!)

{9} What a horrible football weekend this was!!! What a stupid loss for the Vols!! Then my Titans failed me as well. I give up.

Weekly Goal

Ok just as a warning, my head is all over the place.
  • Goals
This week’s goals, I haven’t done made any weekly goals for myself in a while, and really need to get back into doing so. So for this week, my goals are to:  1.) Go to bed early 2.) Drink Less Caffeine 3.) Be more prepared.  Short and simple.
I was able to accomplish 1 & 2 last week, so I’m confident I can do it this week. Boy did I not realize how my caffeine habit (1-2 bottles daily) was affecting my mental well being. I was actually tired enough to go to bed by 10:30pm…and amazingly enough..I felt great when my alarm went off at 6:45AM. Why didn’t anyone tell me about this before!?
  • School
Today is officially my last day of summer. I think I was sadder about this fact last Friday than I am now; which is progress.. Truthfully I feel the most unprepared about this semester than ever, but at is going to tackle it with all I have.  With mostly evening classes, I have a little more time to get things together during the day, which is a bit of a relief. HR emailed my instructors about Pompeii’s presence in their class, so things should be smooth sailing from here Thursday is the only day Im worried about with himHes going to have 7 hours crate while Im at work 10 minutes of outside time, before we are heading out to my first class. (1.5 hours) then dashing for class number 2 (3 hours) so. What ta do what ta do. Well figure out something. Also have to get into the habit of checking my school email more often. Its a piece of junk so I cant set it up to forward stuff to my main addy, so Im stuck going to the schools website, click on the link for webmail, clicking another link for student mail, typing in my username and password and then finally logging into my email account.
  • Work
New schedule at work as well, I was able to ask and receive a few more hours at work, which I am ever so grateful for, but at the same time, it does mean that Ill have be here at 8am every day. I hate getting up that early, but I think it will be good for me to have that consistency.
  • Home
Well beside the news of roomies engagement, no dates just yet they are playing it by ear. (which is fine with me cause Im not eager to loose her) we finally got a STOVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I know, I know for those of you who have these lovely appliances and never have been without them..well you just dont understand. I moved into the new place in April. Previous renters took their stove with them and while there are perks of renting from your parents…….sometimes you can get overlooked just as easily. However someone from our church happened to find a BRAND NEW stove in the scratch and dent section for like $200 and brought it over for us! Yesterday my dad and I installed it and were good to go. Its like a whole new world has opened up! I can likeCOOk! No more Toaster Oven or hot plate meals! Roomie did attempt to make some muffins…but forgot them and burnt em’ up first thing. Oh well it’s been a while. J
Wheeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!!!!!

I love you Sprint - Random Conversations

So my new phone arrived today, after waiting for it for hours, literally sitting outside in my yard, waiting for the FedEx man to arrive. When it finally was delivered I spent 30 minutes trying activate it only, first by their instructions, then manually.

Everything was great, I made a call, received a call life was good. I could touch my screen and it worked! Granted now I'm scared I'll mess it up by touching it... but that is beside the point. All of the sudden I'm starting get these "Error Code 67" messages every few seconds. And I discover, true to the little messages word, I have no data! You have GOT to be kidding me.

Of course the first thing I do is Google it.  One site: TRY this and this and this and dog this, and punch that. I do that. Nothing. Ok Google some more, register for Forums so I can see the whole answer to the question. I hate that. Still nothing.

I decide to wait and see if it will fix itself, load the dogs, and my youngest sister in the car, and head out for the worst dog park experience to date. All three "kids" decided to act really ugly today. I've never been more embarrassed. Anyway so, still no data connection and I'm coming to the sad realization that I will actually have to call Sprint. I don't like on the phone, its weird, unless its someone I know really well..like my parents, or my siblings...I even have a hard time talking to my friends on the phone. So you can understand how the prospect of spending lots of time, with a complete stranger in Who-Knows-where,  made me feel.

So I'm on the phone with the Sprint Rep, its quietly awkward as we reboot the phone 15,000,000 times. 20-30 minutes pass with no communication but what's necessary. Then all of the sudden, she starts chatting like we're best friends.....!??!?!

  • She never talks on the phone outside of work, and she has her voice mail sent to her boyfriends phone
  • She never returns calls
  • She doesn't text
  • The one time she did return someone's call, they thought someone was dying.
  • Her co-worker is on WifeSwap
  • The longest phone call she's been on is 2 hours

*insert blank uninterested but have no where else to go look*

I feel I'm a very friendly and outgoing person, and I had tried to spark some conversation earlier, but she didn't seem like she really cared to talk to the person on the other end.

No Problem.. I mean, I don't know you, you don't know me, we barely remember the others name...despite sitting on the phone with each other for the last 30 minutes....

.....oh never mind, I just realized she was sitting  WATCHING WifeSwap while I was on the phone with her. Good to know I'm a priority.

But whatever the reason, eventually my phone was fixed, I'm happy, she's off the phone. Life is Good again.

Summer Week 5

Miscellany Monday @ lowercase letters

[1] Fun weekend. Finally. I was way tired of staying home, and felt less guilty about ditching the pups for a day, since Pompei got neutered and is on "house arrest". So Rebekah and I  went to Panera and talked and talked, then to McKay's Bookstore, and the mall for some splurging fun. :) I finally found some white shoes at Payless.. I may have to return them for now, so I can make it through the week, but its breaking my heart! I also finally got around to using my Areopostle gift card, which Roomie gave to me at Christmas.. I know, I know.
[2] After all that spending, I came to the sad realization that I was broke, and still have another week before payday. So Sunday I spent a lot of the day budgeting, planning what have you. I really really need to save some monies, cause I really really really really really really really want another car. Like real bad.
[3] Umm...listing my Canon Rebel xti on Ebay. Good bye Camera, you were good too me but its time for to find a new home. Works great, but I like my Sony a lot better, the colors on it are so much better SOOC. 3 out of 4 pics on here were took with Sony can you tell which one was with a different camera?  Also listing my school books as well. Finally.

[4] My life is ridiculously boring right now. If you can't tell.
[5] Summer Projects: About me Scrapbook, Daily Photo, Photobook for Rei's handler, photobook for Midnight's new family, and of course Pompei's scrapbook, and wittle down my 101 N 1001
[6] The job hunt has slowed down to a crawl. I really waiting to see them outcome of certain things going on here, before I move too a more active hunt, plus I'd really like to be a job more than well 8-12 months for once. Plus who says having a career in one field is fun anyhow? My roommate is trying to get to come work with her at her school for Special Ed. I'm tempted but scared, that I'm not qualified.
[7] Finished the Vampire Diaries series last night, how anti-climatic I can't believe it ended the way it did! ARGH!!!

[8] Re-Organized my closet Friday. I need more summer clothes still. I need money to buy more summer clothes. I need another job, so I can have extra money to purchase summe....you get the point.

[9] Baby my neighbor was babysitting

[10] Good Bye

Summer Week 4 - Boredem

Um...
Ok, ok I admit it.
I'm bored.
Day 10-Destination Pins 2
{Random Photo of Pins collected during Destination Imagination, whom I got from some kids from South Korea}
And I'm missing my old job.
As in the WORK I was doing with them.
I miss having four dogs to keep up with.
I miss having SOMETHING to do EVERY DAY.
Wait.
No I don't.
Ok I think I miss having something to do every day.
I can only clean my house so many times before it just won't get any cleaner.
I did splurge a little this week, and did some "Me" shopping.
I bought one shirt from Kohls...
And I've finally decided on the bed set for my room.
{Target.com}
Is it sad that I"m trying to find a dog bed cover to match? Yes?

Anyway I need to get back to work....emptying my 4GB memory card.  Complete the weekly newsletter.
Until i have another random thought!

Dear Diary: In which I talk about my roommate

Wait...did I say I had a roommate?

On occasion we actually happen to here at the same time.

So two months down and so far so good. Defiantly going to miss the girl when she runs off and gets married; not anytime soon, but you know God's sense of humor...

Its a little weird how much alike we are, but it makes life easy because i don't have to worry about things....read: drama. I'm not your typical girl in a way, I don't get offended easily, I'm a ridiculously logical about my emotions sometimes..read: I sometimes drive my self crazy trying to figure out why I'm feeling irrational without displaying towards other people.  I refuse to get into the "he said, she said", refuse to gossip, and i really don't care what people think of the perseception I want them to get of me. And I'm really trying not to be a feminist in a STRONG sense of the word..but psht after my sociology class this semester...

But I digress.

C is pretty much the same way.

Its easier too since we both have space to get away from each other, {hey PMS is not pretty around here} I don't know that I could have had a room mate in my other place. Having four dogs + me was about to drive me over the edge.

We've had a lot of fun discussions, I laugh thinking of how opinionated we both are..its funny we'll discuss all angles without backing off our position and then realize we both are on the same sides.

Though when she leaves I don't plan on acquiring another roommate for a while..unless I'm married too him.  Eight people has been plenty IMO.

Speaking of people I've lived with...my sister has FINALLY bought herself a car. HAlleLujAh. I love my sister but so happy to have my time back!

...I'm sure my parents are too.

Congrats Robyn!!

Dear Lord. Please let it and her in it last at least 1 year. Thank you.

Goodbye....

I have made an excucutive decision.
I have too shut this blog down.
.........
I know its a shock, but its something I have too do.
For my sanity sakes.
Completely stressed out with all I have too have done by next week.
COMPLETELY.
I have too make myself concentrate.
Have to, have to, have to.
{When does one use too and/or to in a sentence? that always confused me}
So don't worry if you don't see me, us, for about two- three weeks.
I'm sure I'll be clogging up your google readers or dashboard with my thoughts.
haha.
I know you will miss my randomness.
But probably mostly my pictures.
hahahaha
Oh look! A butterfly!

April 1st 2010

No more April Fools.
Please!!
My heart is still trying to restart from several of bloggers faking they were going to stop blogging. NOT FUNNY GUYS!!!
Granted I think mine was pretty funny.
I laugh every time I obsessively go back and look at it.
Its a rare occasion I feel this funny, so I'm going to wallow in it a little bit. haha
April 1st
I really have no goals for April other than to get throught school.
I CANNOT BELIEVE THERE ARE ONLY THREE WEEKS OF SCHOOL LEFT!!!
And I feel really good about this semester; its been tough but I think i've done

Random fact of the day: According too my roommate the 3 second rule is A MYTH!!! I know this comes as a surprise to most of you, but I actually find it oddly reliving to hear that a piece food picks up the same amount of germs whether its been on the floor 1 second or 10. I mean I no longer have to dive to the floor to save that piece of candy!

" HEY Watch that piece of food on the floor! I'm coming back too it in a minute!"

Just Kidding.

Ok I'm feeling a little giddy here.
But who wouldn't, with a three day weekend ahead of them!?
I LOVE YOU UT AND PSTCC!!!

My plans? Sleep, sleep, do homework, and probably do some more sleeping.

Oh yes, I'm sure I'll post pics of the kitchen and living room redo later on. The kitchen is white, and the living room is more Honey colored..I think Christina and I both panicked at the color at first, but once it dried..and we got used too it...

Its a little better.

Anyway, gotta go get back into civilian clothing! Yeehaw!

TATA!!!

March 5 - RAAK'd

First off Welcome New Followers!! :)) Here's the "real" March 5th Post.

I had a RAAK (Random Act of Attempted Kindness)#fail today. Since people around here, think dogs are great lawn ornaments, (Do Not.GEt ME STARTED) We have quite a few canine visitors from time to time.

Today's visitor was a well kept chocolate lab named Rex. I'd seen Rex earlier this week, when some people decided to park in our parking lot for the day. (We really needs some "Towed away Zone signs round here...) He was bouncing around the area, so I assumed he was theirs, and tried to calm the dachshunds, who were of course, Freakin out about the encroacher on their territory. They left, he left. Solidifying my thoughts.

Today as I was preparing to leave for my SHOE meetup there he was again. This time, without his "owners" we noticed a tag on him with an address and number...

I couldn't NOT call.

I would want someone to do the same if they found my dog, so after some debate I called to let them know, I would put him on my porch with some water, as I had to leave.

"Yeah..ook....we're in ------- so we'd have to come get him...."

Well GEE don't sound so excited/thankful!

So Pompei and I load up to head to Panera Bread, when Rex decides that he is NOT about to stay here by himself, with those screaming animals on the other side of the door, and promptly jumps the gate.

At this point, we'd already been waiting for the owners about 30 minutes, and I really needed to leave, so I did.

My daarrrlling, brother calls me up a few minutes later to, tell me that I SHOULD have called the owner to tell him, we didn't have his dog anymore...etc..etc..

But at this point, I really didn't feel like telling them, since they were oh-so-concerned, but didn't want them checking out my house while I was gone, so made a curtosy call.

Still they seemed very unfazed about the whole thing, so that was that. I'm just hoping I don't see this poor dogs body on the side of the road somewhere. HE was such a sweet guy.
Makes me miss Victoria.

Pompei and I went on to Panera, for my study session, with my sister and our friend. (We try to get together on a weekly basis, sometimes to study, sometimes just to hang out.) I'm already in full fledged spring break mode, so there weren't no. studying got done today.. But there was lots, and lots of laughter. Mainly cause we forgot my sisters ritalin. JUST.KIDDING.

But there is nothing like the relief of the weekends arrival, mixed with caffeine, to really bring on the giggles.

I love my friends.

Oct. 5th - Complaints

Have you ever gone through a day and not complained? I don't mean not complaining because it didn't come to your mind, but making a conscious effort not to complain?

After talking to a dear friend of mine this morning, I realized how little I have to really complain about, and resolved to go the rest of the day being grateful for what I had, and just look for the good.

Not 2 hours later, my resolve was and is being tested, due to a change in my schedule, which rearranges my entire week. As a person who really dislikes changes...even if they don't really mess up all that much...this is a slight frustration to me, but I'm finding the frustration getting larger the more I don't say anything about it.

  • {Which makes me stop and think...do I really complain that much? And if I do complain a lot, do I ever try to counter balance that with good thoughts? Is this situation REALLY worth complaining about?? What will complaining do to make this situation better?}

Nothing. Because its not something that can or will be changed. So instead I will be grateful for both my jobs, I have great co-workers who have really done a lot for me this year. I will be grateful for my parents who have bent over backwards for me, I will be grateful for my friends who have done the same, I will be grateful to God who put them in my life.

The End.
See NOW I feel better.
