July Recap

What's the saying? Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery? I'm copying this idea from a new blog, I started following recently the Perpetual Page Turner... So here goes!

July in One Word: Blur (stealing this too!) Seriously though, I looked up and its seven days into August. Which means FOOTBALL IS RIGHT AROUND THE CORNER! (read: there goes my life)

Popular Songs on my iPhone this month
  1. Rude by Magic (It gets stuck in your head.)
  1. Acapella by Karmin
  1. Do You Want to Build a Snowman from Frozen
  1. (IT GETS STUCK IN YOUR HEAD LIKE O.M.G.)

5 things about my life in July

1.) The beginning of a new job, which I am still enjoying. I may have backed up from my "love" status, but its no where near the hatred I felt for my previous position. 2.) I HAS WEEKENDS AGAIN! It's been amazing to be able to do things and go places on the weekend with my friends. 3.) Tally came back from her month long trip to GA, and I drove to Spartanburg SC to get her. 4.) Once again was able to meet up with my Guide Dog Foundation friend/Guide Dog Handler Kacie and her family, and meet her new guide dog Boomer. During this visit I was able to try Chipotle and was a disappointment. 5.) Went to my sisters first vocal recital and was very impressed. I know we kid each other all the time about our singing voice, and having only heard her play around .. it was a pleasant surprise to hear her sing!  6.) Also got to spend more time with my sister this month due to her car being out of commission, with the new job being only 5 minutes away from her, we made a lot of pick ups during my first two weeks.

With the move to a new job, I lost my singing buddy/co-worker from the animal hospital, so I've really struggled with the quietness and not being able to sing loudly to songs that are trapped in my brain. It's been difficult, but I've managed to survive. Sometimes I have to go into the stairwell and just break into quiet song just to get it out of my system. #singerproblems

Quote of the Month

"Volunteering is an act of heroism on a grand scale. And it matters profoundly. It does more than help people beat the odds; it changes the odds." - President Bill Clinton
As you know, I've been a volunteer puppy walker for the past eight years, and have volunteered my
time in many other capacities as well. I live in the Volunteer State after all..  However, I've really been struggling with some of the volunteering I do, due to lack of appreciation, lack of support, lack of support, and lack of support. It's hard giving up your life for an organization and barely get any appreciation. Reading this quote made me realize once again, that it's not about me, but the end result and changing the odds.
