And Done!!

Today ends my second semester at PSTCC.
Due to the freezing rain we had this morning, I was afraid we'd be delayed until tomorrow, and I didn't know if my heart could take that. However, the roads were clear enough for me to run our and drop of my final portfolio with my teacher. Had I known that was all we'd be doing, I would have done that yesterday.
Oh well, it doesn't matter now because I'm officially done! Done. Done. done. DONE!
Can I say it again?
DONE!!!!

Now I need to start Christmas shopping.............

A Post in which my brain explodes.

For those of you who like posts with a topic...
Get ready for some extreme randomness...or Quelf-ness.
(I'll tell you about that later!)
Fall 2010 semester is officially...DONE!
I'm still alive.
Believe it or not....I went through the majority of the week with out caffeine, I paid for it sorely with headaches, barely staying awake during class, extreme difficulties in concentrating due to lack of sleep...but I did it.
I made up for it today.....

I barely got my final  portfolio for my studio class turned in before the photo printers ran of out ink!!
These aren't your $100 HP printers...nooo... they range between $3,000-$5,000 and the ink is about $99 a cartridge. I don't know whose "bright" idea it was for us to all print on campus was, but they quickly found out how problematic it can bee to have several hundred people needing to access three semester in a week.
Believe me when I say you've never seen a more stressed out group of teachers and students.
During our "final critique" our studio teacher ,who is also the head of the photo department  had to leave for about twenty minutes during class due to an emergency with the printers...it was insane. Most of us were about ready to pack up and leave, when he showed back up again. Much to our disappointment.
We did get out a hour earlier, which made me happy.
I think I'm still in slight disbelief that this school year is over.forever.
Never do I have to live through this year again.
Thank God.
Though...on my way to class last night a girl in the car behind me, did make attempts on my life last night.
Don't worry, no harm, no foul..though her car was messed up pretty bad.
Car in front of me slammed on their brakes, I slammed on mine and was breathing a sigh of relief  at avoiding a collision, when I glanced up and saw a grey Toyota Celica slam into me.
I didn't have time to be scared or do anything other than say "Why me God?!"
....And throw my arm  out to keep Pompei from flying.
She was my age, and extremely apologetic about the whole ordeal.
They call them accidents for a reason, but at least she wasn't completely incompetent, like the last person that hit me. I called the police, told them where we were moving our vehicles too (cause my next fear, was being hit by the other cars flying around us..) and we chatted about school, and everything else in between while waiting for the Police to arrive. On a good note..all my information was up to date, so no citations for missing information for me! YAY!!!!!!!
But..I tell you what, I don't know much more of 2010 I can take! I'd really just like to hide out in my bed, until January 1st in all honesty. I am thankful, that my job gives us a week off for the holidays. No its not paid, and yess I'll have work extra to make up for that week but oh.my.goodness I am cannot wait to have a week with NOTHING to do.
ABSOLUTELY NOTHING LORD! Please!?
Only three weeks left!!!

miscellany Monday

Miscellany Monday @ lowercase letters
{1} It was cold this morning. Like my neighbors/friend/roommates sister called to let us know that fact, which of course I'd already discovered as I ran the dogs out for the morning potty break. Yep! According to the radio it was 46 this morning. And as I look at my computer it says its.....gee only 54!!

{2} Oh this weather fills me with nostalgia. I'll admit, there are times when I miss my family deeply. The way we were before, together in one house, busy, but still close to each other. Now its like we're in two different worlds. Its not bad, but I miss the carefree feeling. Amazing what three little years will change!

{3} While I'm not a fan of fall weather at.all. I am a fan of fall food, and clothes! Hence my sudden obsession for new boots. I practically live in boots during the fall/winter. For now I have three pairs in my collection.

{4} Speaking  of boots... I went with boots #1 cause the other boots I really wanted (#4) were out of stock, and I can't remember what was up with boots #2. But rest assured, if I stick to my budget this month, I will reward my self with another pair!

{5} I've also revamped (as in re-formatted not redid) my 101 N 1001 list. I'm up to 30 out of 101 pretty good. But defiantly need to step it up! This week I'm working on my daily water intake and perhaps, getting up earlier than I normally do. *gulp*

{6} New recipes for this month will be "Baked Potato Soup" and "Spinach and Artichoke Dip". Both are favorites of mine at O'Charley's and Applebees, and I'm dying to see if I can recreate a version that I like! Adding to my list of things I can make as well. And checking off another part of my 101-N-1001!

{7} I haz cute puppies.

{8} Bad news is...looks like I"m headed to court after all for my citations. oh wait. I didn't tell you about those did I? Oops! Well a little thing really, expired tag and no proof of insurance. Cause in my home-state, they never asked for proof of insurance, so we never knew to carry it. But I got two of them in like three weeks. #notcool But it was recommended that I show them I have (will) taken care of my tag ($60 for a STICKER!!!!! AH) and did have insurance at the date of the accident/ticket and PERHAPS i can get off with just paying the court fees ($96.50 seriously!?!)

{9} What a horrible football weekend this was!!! What a stupid loss for the Vols!! Then my Titans failed me as well. I give up.

Classes Day 2

Have you ever started a semester, and within the first week wondered why on earth you were doing it? I kind of felt that way, as I raced from work, to my house, and back out to my class. What on earth would posses me to schedule two classes as two different campus's?

While I am tired, and feeling slightly insane, I did make it with plenty of time to spare as it turns out. But that niggling thought in the back of my head, keeps me from celebrating that it actually worked how I was hoping it would.

English 1010
My instructor for this class; I don't know really what to say about him still, I mean he's very bored sounding when he talks to us, and really acts like he doesn't want to be there. For a young guy, he's really "Not Hip" with the whole 21st century outlook just yet. I mean seriously WHY am I sitting in class HAND WRITING a paper to turn in? Last year was only developmental english and we were using computers right there and EMAILING our pages in, instead of going home, typing them up and printing them off. *which reminds me that I need ink for my printer...*

After 10 minutes of writing, my hand was completely cramped up and I struggled to fill in my last page simply due to my hand not cooperating. Even still I finished early was able to leave about 20 minutes early. *SCORE!

But that meant when we arrived at Campus No.2 we were about 45 minutes early for my next class. So Pompei and I got out and pounded some pavement, and did some training and walked and walked and walked. We both were worn out by the time we made our way too our room.

Photography II
A few minutes into the class, I knew I was going to like this instructor, not only did he NOT insult anyone right off  but quickly allayed my fears about "making mistakes", in fact he wanted us to make mistake, to put ourselves out there on a limb, to be creative, work 50% technical and 50% creative, AND he's going to let us EDIT!!!! *SCORE 2!! :)

He had us go around introduce ourselves, tell everyone why we were interested in photography and show off some of our "best" work. After last semester, I was horribly doubting myself so you can imagine my relief, while when going through some photos on my Flickr account, he told me he could see why I was into kid + pet photography because, in his words "You're good at it."

If it wouldn't of been seriously awkward, I'd have probably hugged him.

Its not that I don't believe that I'm good, I do, you have to believe in yourself to be good at whatever, in my humble opinion. But when every assignment you get back, is just almost crushing, its tough to keep your head up and keep going. I was conditioned to think that's the way the photog department at my college felt.
Stupid Emotions/feelings. Anyway, so I've gone from dreading this class to feeling like this will be fun!

Want to know our first assignment? Self Portraits.

And then I remember I have another photo class that's starts tomorrow.  Erin. Shut up.

PS. Um.....have I posted daily? Wow. I'm impressed with myself. who knew I could form coherent posts more than twice a week!

Oh man I almost forgot but Jess @  The Little Blonde Girl  passed the "Blog With Substance" award on too me earlier!! THANK YOU!!! The Rules for this award would be: Sum up your blogging philosophy, motivation and experience using five words. Can I be totally honest when I say, the first thought that popped into my ehad would be:

Stress- stress- stress - stress - stress and did I mention stress?

I know its not been, but lately that's kinds of what its felt like. But my overall experience, in blogging these last 4 years would be:

School- Hope - Laughter - Fun - Puppies

Yep That pretty much sums it up!

Next I'm supposed to pass it on so I'll pass it too, these bloggers but I hate picking a few and leaving other out, cause if I'm following you, its because I like to read your blog.  So if you drop by today, please, please, please take it with love from me. :-)
