Knoxville Campmeeting 2012
Annual Thursday Night CiCi's Pizza outing.
Every year during camp-meeting, Thursday night is (was) dedicated to some sort of young people outing. However over the years its become more of a family thing, than a young persons things. :-| We rent out a CiCi's after hours, stuff our self with cardboard-y pizza (which tasted a bit yummier this time around, but COULD be due to the fact that I was DYING of hunger by this point)
The original plan, developed by myself, my friend Jennifer and my sister Robyn, was too go up to groups of people, and have Robyn and Jen stand there posing by the unsuspecting victims. However, It soon became a free for all with everyone grabbing people and snatching them into group photos. Hilarity ensued.

Christmas & New Years Recap

In a word? Bliss.
Perfect happiness; great joy
Not a word that I use regularly but its perfect for this occasion.
I loved finally having a moment to breathe, to sleep, to read a book for pete's sake. Saturday & Sunday were pretty busy, my family had our dinner on Saturday, and I spent at least five hours cooking, something that is quite unusual for me; its not that I don't mind cooking, its just super, boring to cook for yourself. As long as someone else is planning the menu, I don't mind whipping up food for 8+ people....as long as I don't have to bring it home with me.
Sunday we did our gift exchange, between church services. My parents...er.. dad.. isn't big on the whole gift exchange thing, so they purchased the "family" (which doesn't include me as I don't live there. #FAIL!) a Ping Pong table, and we kids exchanged names and bought for one person. Being the youngest Autumn is alllll about opening gifts, and had us all running through some sort of crazy, gift exchange. It was a little ridiculous but we complied in order to get her to settle down. However once she got her present of an (overpriced) Webkins she was all done with the gift exchange. Leaving the at least three of us gift-less.
*rolls eyes*
Ah to be young and ... well.
The next couple of days, were spent doing absolutely nothing of worth, or productive. I didn't realize how badly I need that time, just to relax, I was able to finally complete a jig-saw puzzle I'd been working on forever, and rearrange my house a bit.
By Wednesday, all my laziness had caught up with me, and I had to scramble to get ready for our annual New Year's Trip to Alabama. Despite getting a late start, getting stopped by the police, and getting lost in the wild hills of Alabama, we made it to the small town of Morgan City just in time for the first service.
Not only was I challenged spiritually, but I got to meet new friends, talk with old, and realize some things about myself. All in all? A good trip.
Nooow back to the real world.

Was Fun.
And Tiring.
We spent the weekend in Charlotte North Carolina, for the annual Thanksgiving Fellowship meeting with our Church.
We stayed up 'til 3AM..every night.
We had fun catching up with old friends and meeting new.
We ate out every night.
We went through Wal-Mart on Thursday night.
We decided "never again"
We did not take many photos.
We did not have much internet access (shout out to McDonald's and Chick-Fil-A)
We did not get any homework done.
I decided I want to learn how to play the bass guitar.
The End.

New Years Weekend

My winter break is partially over and I'm attempting to get back to reality. I spent the weekend in Alabama with friends, during our annual New Years Fellowship Meeting we attend with our church. Despite having some misgivings about the money involved in making a trip, I was pleasantly surprised when my father offered to fund the trip, something I really needed and was looking forward to after the year I've had. There is nothing quite like a weekend with a house full of girls....twelve to be exact, ranging from 10 - 26 as you can guess laughter was in abundance over the weekend. We always have a lot of fun at this meeting, perhaps because the scene is more intimate, rather than always going out to eat, at the end of services, there are families who are willing to invite 50-60 young people into their home and feed them in the evenings. That of course means late nights getting home around 1:00am and not crashing into bed until around 2 or 3 am and getting up and getting ready for the services at 8:30am the next morning. Exhausting though that schedule may be its good, clean fun and I wouldn't miss for anything.

Travels
We headed to CharTown at 9AM sharp, Friday morning.
I briefly thought about hitting some stores, but didn't feel that it was worth it. They were running some sales on Wednesday when I ran out, during my lunch break, and I'd picked up somethings there. Plus I really needed my money for this trip; so I slept through that thought.
We would have been on the road pretty quickly, had the vets office not taken forever and a day, to get my paperwork processed, cheated me out of $170 due to unnecessary charges, and get the dogs into their little temp homes. Oh well, its my fault for not planning ahead and getting them into a real boarding facility.
The trip its self was event-less, which after my last trip was AWESOME! My "dear sister Kristen" did send us to the wrong Hotel, but thankfully it was only about 5 miles away from the place we needed to be, so we made it in good time.
Since the morning service was well over, most of the (300-400 crowd) had dispersed for lunch, and there we're a paltry few left in the ginormous lobby of the Renaissance.
Some of whom being my close friends from, well...as close to birth as you can call friendship! One of them couldn't leave the hotel, so we hauled our luggage to our room, (on the 8th floor) and then ordered pizza in.
We talked, laughed, played Dutch Blitz, road the glass elevator from the 9th floor to the 1st floor, than back up to the 8th floor, then back to the 3rd...I other words; had a great time.
Other friends came back from lunch so we chatted with them for a while, and watched the reception for the wedding get set up; they had a beautiful ice sculpture for their center piece.
We then went up to our floor, to watch for the bride and groom. Unfortunately we were disappointed, but we did watch the party goers for a while.
The Service was awesome, and thought provoking. But I came away know a little bit more about myself and God.
It was about 10:30 when the service ended, and of course everyone was STARVING. So about 70 of us descended on Applebees. I tell you they were "excited" to see us. (Though they did call ahead) Truthfully everyone was respectful, it was noises, but there was no destruction, no one was rude, but...the service was lacking.
I completely understand that it was a big crowd, but we've to other restaurants with big crowds, and gotten great service. This time? Not so much, by the time we left at 1:30AM, there was still several tables that hadn't got their food yet.
Saturday was a blur of church, dashing out for lunch,Young People's Service, dashing up stairs, to "take a nap"....and the other service. We once again went to Applebees...different smaller group, and the service was MUCH better. We came back to the Hotel and talked for a while, before I dragged myself to my room to pack, and crash.
We drove back to reality Sunday morning. *sigh* That my friends was a great weekend.

Random Fact About Me: I HATE Elevators. (Claustrophobia, breaking down etc..) The fact they were glass helped some...in making my stomach, crawl into my throat as we descended. There was a wedding going on in one of the Ballrooms, so my friend Brittany and I casually strolled down, and glanced in as we walked by. We rounded a corner and realized that some of the doors had peep holes in them...hehe....
