Ten on Tuesday

Finals are upon us, and yess I should be studying.. or at least finishing this quiz that I have until.. tonight to complete, but.. well YOU KNOW.

1. What are 3 things that are on your Christmas wishlist? 
I've been too caught up in finals to really think about Christmas, and what *I* want, but upon hearing that my family decided the parents would just get "everyone" aka everyone who lives at their house, a ping-pong table, I've decided that too come up with somethings (that are exorbitantly LESS than a ping-pong table). *ahem*

Piano (Keyboard or otherwise) - Go GaGa Messenger Bag - Money - iPad. Oh that's four. 

2. What's your favorite Christmas song? 
Ava Maria

3. Do you have a favorite band or singer that sings it especially awesome?
Celtic Woman

4. Have you heard about the website GoodReads?
Yess I love that site, and use it to track the books I've read and to get the scoop on other books before I buy. I also use to review books for publishers etc..

5. What are 3 books you want to read? 
Three books I would like to read, would be anyone from the stack of 14-15 I picked up from the library last week. Honestly WHEN do I think I'll have time to read them during finals week?

6. Do I hunt deer?
Random. But No.

7. Have I started Christmas shopping? Are you completely finished?
Nope and Nope.

8. Did you shop on Black Friday? What was the best deal you got?
I didn't shop on Black Friday, we did go out to Wal-Mart Thursday night to pick up a few items.. like glue and what not (we were out of town) it was insanity. There is no deal good enough to put myself through that. However I might take one of my guide dog puppies one year, think of all the great exposure that would be!

9. What's one holiday tradition your family has?
My family isn't real big on holiday traditions, I wish we were but we aren't, so yeah!

10. How many blogs do you read? DO you subscribe/unsubscribe often or do you purge every once in a while?  I have 437 subscriptions in my Google Reader. THAT my friend is insanity, but I keep finding cool, new blogs to read and I can't make myself stop. However I do have everything organized by topic, so I know which ones I read more often ... I have gone through and purged a lot but I still can't get it to a reasonable number. Oh well.

Ten On Tuesday

1. Mac or Windows? (Or Linux for you super geeks!)
 Mac all the way Baby! 

2. What drew you to that operating system?
I started using Macs in one of my Computer Art classes, then my grandmother purchased one for my high school graduation, so I've been a mac every since. :) Not to mention, ease of use, lack of virus's...etc..etc.. 

3. Mice – Wireless or Wired? Mouse pad or none?
I don't care honestly, and if the mouse will function without a pad than I don't have one.. other wise..well yes 

4. Other than the Internet – What do you use your computer most for?
.....

There's another use for the computer beside the internet? Who knew. No I use it a lot of photo editing, digital scrap-booking, playing Age of the Empires, Spider Solitaire, .... (grins) 

5. What’s one computer-related thing you wish you were best at? (CSS, Photoshop, Excel, etc.)
Being more proficient in HTML and CSS would definitely be high on my list. I started a degree in Web Design, switched to Photography and am wishing I'd stuck with the former longer..

6. Describe the first time you ever used a computer.
The.first.time. i...wow I honestly don't remember, I was like maybe 7-8? I ono.. :) 

7. How often do you upgrade to a new operating system?
As often as I can get a free version. I've just now upgraded my Mac from Tiger to Snow Leopard, because a co-worker got it too me for free. Lemme tell you I wish I'd stuck with Tiger at this point. Why didn't anyone tell me SL was sooooo buggy!? I hate it! Waaaaah! 

8. Are you a short-cutter (CTRL+C) or a right-clicker?
Short cuts all the way! I hate moving my hands back and forth between the keyboard and mouse (can we say lazy much?) so I'm all about my Command + <insert whatever>. 

9. Is computer-use a constant thing in your life (such as using it both at work and home) or do you get a break (because you don’t use them at work)?
Up until recently, I pretty much lived on my computer, hours on at work, hours on a home, but I've realized there is more to life than my online-life (or lack thereof) so pretty much do everything I need to at work, and only play games at home. 

10. Where do you think the world would be if personal computers did not exist?
We'd all be bored out of our minds.

Ten on Tuesday

 Of your current hobbies, which would you choose to spend more time, money, and effort on? Why?

I have several hobbies right now...photography, digital scrapbooking and puppy raising… and I spend money on all of them…. Am majoring in Photography (almost $2k!!), I have 20GBs worth of digital scrapbooking stuff, and have to force myself not to purchase more, no matter how cheap it is!! And Puppy raising… I don't really think of this as a hobby per se, but I do volunteer for fun, and spend a LOT.OF.MONEY of these dogs!!

2. List the two other hobbies/habitual activities (not chores) besides the one listed above that you regularly do now and didn't choose in question one.

 Reading and Blogging

3. Why are you spending time on the above two hobbies/habitual activities at all if you really wanted to spend your time on the first one you chose? …or to put it another way, what are these two hobbies/habitual activities fulfilling that the first one doesn't if you don't want to put all your effort into the first hobby?

 I can't say, that I want to spend all of my time, and I can't because well life gets in the way unfortunately…for me a hobby is not something you want to do All.the.time, but something you enjoy doing, once in a while, I mean if you had to do it would it really but "fun" anymore?? Believe me. I know.

4. Read John 3:16 in the bible… In what way does this passage affect you? What are your feelings towards these words, positively or negatively?

 Ah probably the most "famous" bible scripture…This scripture, lets me know that God has provided a way of escape from this world of sin. I don't know how people can think that God is cruel or unjust after reading this scripture. I mean who gives their child for an entire WORLD, knowing that the majority will reject him.

5. M & M's: nuts, no nuts, or peanut butter?

 No nuts. Not really an M & M fan at all realliy.

6. Putting away the feeling of pride being a bad thing; what secretly/openly are you proud about yourself?

One of my goals last year was to learn how to share. Rudimentary right? Not. I am the oldest of six, and when I started working my darling siblings, figured what was mine, was theirs and partook of my food, drink, candy, clothing freely. Which irritated me no end, so I shared nothing with anyone, time, food, etc…etc.. I did feel bad; my friends are so giving of their time, their money, their vehicles…it's not even funny, and I'm sitting here with all my things piled under me, guarding it with my life.

So the fact that I'm sharing my entire house with another person is big for me.

And as London Tipton would say: YAY ME!

7. Given one room in the house to do with what you want, not changing the actual size of the room and with all the money you would need, what would you do, and be specific? (this can range from bouncy floor,walls &amp; ceilings; to hard wood floor with wood paneling and purple ceiling with a chair; to nothing)

 Oh defiantly my kitchen, we'd buy a new stove and a new refrigerator, and a microwave, we'd paint cabinets, replace the floor…tear down wall paper….

8. What's the next movie you're going to see? Not what you'd LIKE to GO see, but the next movie you realistically are going to watch.

 I actually don't watch movies as a general rule…(You can pick your jaw up now. )

10. What makes you cry? What makes you pray? What makes you laugh?

I actually am not one given too tears often…even giving up my puppies I've only cried once, and that was the first time I'd raised.

I sometimes wish I could be more emotional, but yeah. That's me. I pray about everything, prayer is just me talking to God…I don't limit what I talk about to my family or friends, so I don't limit what I talk to God about. A lot of things make me laugh…I just try to make sure it comes at an appropriate time. :)
