Family + Friends | Campmeeting 2012

Knoxville Campmeeting 2012
Annual Thursday Night CiCi's Pizza outing.

Every year during camp-meeting, Thursday night is (was) dedicated to some sort of young people outing. However over the years its become more of a family thing, than a young persons things. :-| We rent out a CiCi's after hours, stuff our self with cardboard-y pizza (which tasted a bit yummier this time around, but COULD be due to the fact that I was DYING of hunger by this point)

The original plan, developed by myself, my friend Jennifer and my sister Robyn, was too go up to groups of people, and have Robyn and Jen stand there posing by the unsuspecting victims. However, It soon became a free for all with everyone grabbing people and snatching them into group photos. Hilarity ensued.

Is This Thing On?

Random photo of my strawberry lemonade @ O'Charley's
In the weeks since I last blogged, much has happened, but obviously not enough to make me sit down and write about it.  The truth is, now that I only have access to internet at work and school, I find having other "more important" things to do with my bits of internet time, than blogging.

I know.. I know, but such is life.

At the moment, I'm attempting to recover from the craziness that surrounds, our annual church camp-meeting. While it was a blast, the late nights (2-3AM) and bad nutritional choices I made (aka at least 1-2 soda's daily) are beginning to catch up with me.

Yesterday I got home from school, and slept for two hours, than turned around went to bed at 10:30PM. Today I woke up with a slightly sore throat, and runny nose.

Can I tell you guys something? I can deal with any other pain (sort of, kinda, not really) other than my throat. I hate, hate, hate sore throats.

In fact, its the only sickness that I will down all kinds of medication to make the pain go away. I've found out the hard way, you shouldn't eat cough drops like candy, and that if you don't aim those throat sprays right you can numb your tongue.. OH! And that they don't last very long.

So now I'm sitting at my desk, waiting impatiently for the clock to change from 4:32PM to 5:00pm, so I can get home and at least, feel the comfort of my home surrounding me.

Looks like Me + Water are going to get real close in the coming days.

Anyone got any tips for heading off colds/sore throats before they become major?

miscellany monday

Miscellany Monday @ lowercase letters
I Love those who encourage my randomness.

{1} You know its monday when.....you crash your work computer multiple times with in the first hour of being there. You knock your companies website off-line within two hours. You've had to restart your computer at least 3 times with in three hours, and you are trying to figure out a way to break the bad news to your boss.

{2} Amazing weekend, it was a little surrell almost we had 5 people get saved during the campmeeting, one of which I knew growing up. Its awesome to be able to have her in our lives again. Saturday was our post-camp meeting picnic....which I had photos of but since my memory card is acting stupid, I don't know if I can retrieve them.

{3} Was able to get the site back online. Its really sad when you have to go back to Dreamweaver 8 (Like the FIRST version of Dreamweaver) because CS5 is crashing.

{4} I was contacted recently by CSN stores to host another review with them. I was surprised and pleased, after all who doesn't like free stuff!? I still use the products I purchased from them last time, which you can read about here.....As you all know, the amount of things available on CSN is quite overwhelming, from kitchen appliances to nightstands. I'm sure it will take me...oh a month or so to decide what to review! :)

{5} Was thrilled the VOLS won over UAB (32-23) something like that. That's good cause I was about to ditch them if we lost ANOTHER game. its funny I could have cared less about football two years ago, now I'm sitting at picnics constantly refreshing my phone to keep up with the score.

Last Weekend

Life is back in the slow lane again, and it feels sooo good!! But anyways, had one of the funnest, wettest, busiest weekends...Saturday rather.

Normally after camp meeting we have a big picnic with all of our out of town guests. The weather stations had been reporting rain, rain, rain all day Saturday, but some of us...ok me, was very optimistic that it would be beautiful day.

Needless to say my hopes were squashed at the sound of pounding rain in the morning. Which immediately made me decide that Ira would need to sit out this picnic, (which was to go on rain or shine) After waiting about an hour after it was scheduled to start, we loaded up on umbrellas and towels, and headed out in the rain.

Which was still POURING DOWN. Everyone was huddled under shelter, eating, talking and having a great time.

Eventually some decided that a little water wouldn't hurt them and dove outside to play volleyball. While we (smart ones) stayed under the shelter and watched the park turn into a lake...or a ratha large pond.

Once everyone was throughly water logged, we made plans to do something INSIDE later, and I split for work.

Two hours later was on my way to Gatlinburg TN, to go Ice Skating!! I have never been, but used to roller-blade Alllll the time. It took some getting used to the thin blade of the skate but once I did, it was fun!

Once they kicked us off the ice...(they were closing) we all walked around the Bass Pro Shop...massive all things camping-fishing-hunting-store......it had Starbucks..:)

I headed home ASAP as I was seriously dragging and my dogs had suffered another day crated, so I went home exercised them and crashed.

A Great day IMO.

Wooooooshhhh

This has been the view from my house for the last week.
Good "ol fashioned Tent Revival of sorts.

I know people jokingly call themselves parents of their pets, but believe me...I have truly felt like a single mother of three.

This week my life has consisted of this, in this order:
  • Work
  • Home
  • Uncrate dogs, and load into car.
  • Park for 30mins-1 hour
  • Home
  • Visit for 15 minutes
  • Get ready for church
  • Feed Dogs
  • Re-crate B & T
  • Church
  • Home
  • Sleep
*repeat*

My guys have only had the minimalist about of time with me, as I could afford, my friends have only seen glimpses of me as I dashed in and out.

My house is a shambles and my brain is fried. I AM TIRED.

And why am I still up at 2:16AM?

Funny story. Although today was the last day of campmeeting, last night was our last service in the tent....why? Well because at the end of the service the skies let loose all the gallons of rain it had been holding for the last couple of days.

The service ended yet no one made a move to leave the shelter of the tent.....until the water came in. I had gone ahead and braved the rain with Ira, as I didn't want her to get dirty, when I came back, water was pouring down the slope and puddling by the stage. Probably 2-3 inches worth.

People migrated quickly to their cars, and to the stage, but still the water came. A lot of girls gave up on the shoe thing, and sloshed around barefoot...

Its was way too funny. Tomorrow we'll have a picnic....its supposed to rain enough to float a boat. Oooh Boy!
FYI: Volunteers play Ohio tomorrow as well.

-Jobs and Things

ben - I was meant to be here!In just a few short hours, another Wilderwood Graduation will become history; I am saddend because once again i'll have to say goodbye to another very special guy in my life.

But he has such a great family, I really can't think sad thoughts for long when I see that face :).

Other news, my air conditioner decided to stop working, and its MISERABLE to inside at least until about 11PM, and than its good until about 12PM, and we're hot again.

The ceiling fans, and my two little desk fans are working their hardest at stirring the heat around...but not doing much good. {*sob*}

Did my monthly shopping yesterday....over spent by about $100.....yeah. not good ERIN. Though I will admit that I didn't do as much planning as I did last month.
Lessoned Learned.

Next week is our church's camp meeting (convention type deal) while I am looking forward to it, I'm completely stressed out as too how I"m going to deal with my dogs not having anywhere to exercise. My park hunt is not going so well, and I'm really starting to be at a loss of what to do. I have thought about kenneling them, but don't have money for that. I am SO moving aSaP....or at least before next years event!

And than after that.....time for my job change at Wilderwood....my time commitments is mostly what I'm nervous/annoyed/stressed/idon'tknow about; but we'll see if my dear co-workers will let B & T hang out in a crate while I'm out there...else its almost pointless to have a dog, if you are gone from them all the time.

...."its the little foxes that spoil the vine".. - Song of Solomon 2:15

And its these little things I'm letting get to me.

But other than trying not to stress...this week has been good.
