Is This Thing On?

In the weeks since I last blogged, much has happened, but obviously not enough to make me sit down and write about it.  The truth is, now that I only have access to internet at work and school, I find having other "more important" things to do with my bits of internet time, than blogging.

I know.. I know, but such is life.

At the moment, I'm attempting to recover from the craziness that surrounds, our annual church camp-meeting. While it was a blast, the late nights (2-3AM) and bad nutritional choices I made (aka at least 1-2 soda's daily) are beginning to catch up with me.

Yesterday I got home from school, and slept for two hours, than turned around went to bed at 10:30PM. Today I woke up with a slightly sore throat, and runny nose.

Can I tell you guys something? I can deal with any other pain (sort of, kinda, not really) other than my throat. I hate, hate, hate sore throats.

In fact, its the only sickness that I will down all kinds of medication to make the pain go away. I've found out the hard way, you shouldn't eat cough drops like candy, and that if you don't aim those throat sprays right you can numb your tongue.. OH! And that they don't last very long.

So now I'm sitting at my desk, waiting impatiently for the clock to change from 4:32PM to 5:00pm, so I can get home and at least, feel the comfort of my home surrounding me.

Looks like Me + Water are going to get real close in the coming days.

Anyone got any tips for heading off colds/sore throats before they become major?

Don't you just love how colds come at the most inconvenient times?

I looooaaad up on oranges/orange juice. Though apparently your body can only absorb so much vitamin C, I don't really mind though because I love oranges. Also I drink lots of tea and warm beverages with a dollop of honey!
Also it is a great excuse to do everything in your bed :)

If you gargle with salt water, it kills the bacteria!
