A Depressing Ending to Fun Week

This was going to be a post wrapping up the rest of our spring break visit (which involved, a lot more shopping, merry go-rounds and a barky dog [whose ears you can see can see in the above picture]) we had a lot of fun, and I hope we get to do it again soon ......but some events Sunday, really have pushed some of the joy of the weekend out of me.

I won't go into details but..

It made me value the friends I have now even greater. I made me realize that some friendships aren't meant to be for a lifetime. (which makes me EXTREMELY sad). I made me realize that there is more evil in the world than I originally was aware of.

What a way to end a great weekend eh?

Starbucks and Apple Fritters
Room-mate comes home for a visit! :)

We didn't get home until around 9:00PM and while the other girls played  Wii and laughed at the videos we took, I excused myself to go to bed. 7:00AM comes ridiculously early when you're having fun. :(

Are you on Spring Break? Are you taking a break this Spring just because? (as am I)

Stay Safe Ok?

Last week...

Was spring break.
The saddest, most miserable excuse for a spring break.
Even though it wasn't sad or miserable.
Just a sad excuse for one.
Cause it didn't FEEL like spring break.

I worked my normal hours, and while those school free hours after work, were nice it just didn't feel like a break.  One of the highlights of this week, was finally getting together with my neighbor/friend and going to lunch.  We've worked about a mile or two apart for the last six months or so, and just realized how close we were. Since both of our schedules are pretty flexible we finally decided on a time to go out. It was so nice just to get to sit and chat.
We became a lot closer during the summer of last year, since she was "nannying" three boys out of her home, and I was working an afternoon shift, so many mornings we both be outside with our "kids" (her 3 boys and my 3 dogs).
But since she got a new job, life has kept us both busy and it was nice to be able to have that time again, I really hope we keep it up...before one of us does something "crazy" like start dating or something. #notreadyforthatyet.

My roommate and I celebrated 1 year of "room-mating". I joke that I lend her my back-room for the times she decides to spend the night.. :) I actually like being by myself so I don't mind too much.

I wound up baby-sitting not once, but twice over the weekend...not something I've done for a while, but they were all good kids, and it was fun. Now its time to pick up the books and well the camera in my case, and hit them harder than ever. The down side of spring break, is the loss of momentum, you start out hard, and then settle into a steady pace...that comes to a screeching halt, the instant 12:00AM hits Saturday morning. Trying to get it started back up early Monday is d-i-f-f-i-c-u-l-t.

Not to mention daylight "savings" time.
Come to think of it, why in the world didn't we have our spring break this week instead of last week!? hmph.

Thanks a lot PSTCC.

End of Spring Break

I don't like traveling. But this week, I SOO wish I could have gotten away from it all, and actually had a BREAK! It doesn't help that my friend R is going to Florida next week. :-{ Not that I have money to go on vacation right now...or in the next six months for that matter..

My sister almost purchased her first car yesterday. I say almost because as they were test driving it the engine quit. yeah. Needless to say they came home car less...but we're just glad it happened then, and not after we got it home.

I have to admit to being a litttttlllee bit glad that she didn't get it, so that I will perhaps have the chance to get a car. I mean cause how lame is it for your YOUNGER sister to have a car before you do?

Ok I DID have a car, buttttt I kind of ran it into someone's hitch, and my parents said it wasn't worth fixing. Then they sold it to our neighbors who have been happily putting around in it.

Granted it probably wouldn't have survived all the traveling I do around here but...that is Not.the.point.

I am really hoping too get my FA money in next week, so I can start some serious vehicle inquiries..cause I'm really tired of driving my dads car.

Right now I'm looking at the Ford Escape, Mazda Tribute,Pontiac Vibe or the Pontiac Torrent. I am a "big car' sort of girl, but trying to get something within my budget. Plus my friends would LOVE to be able to ride with me, without having....dog hair on them, or the actually dogs on them.

What can I say. Love me? Love my dogs.

Anyone own any of these vehicles Pros? Cons?

I wanna know!

Spring Break 1 & 2

Spring Break Day 2

I wanted to write yesterday, but couldn't really summon the energy to post anything, other than Pompeii's 4 Month post. I spent most of the day cleaning, watching C move her stuff in, and helping them move some of my furniture around. I actually sat down and started reading a book, before I fell asleep for about an hour. (I rarely take naps)

I did eventually run out and get some food,(yes I do pride myself on my *healthy* food choices) but am so looking forward to having a fridge again. According to my father, I am slated to get a today....but I'm not holding my breath. Eating out twice a day is E-X-P-E-N-S-I-V-E, and boring. Hence the Pizza.  Update: A fridge did arrive. It works. Thats all I need it to do. :)

But I digress

Spring Break - I'm actually going to do something useful this week, and really try to start some good habits. When it comes to starting new things, I normally start off really well (101N1001 for instance) but as life starts coming on, I start letting things drop off, unless is absolutely necessary. So I might be a little unrealistic to start working on new habits, when life is in an un-normal state...but the truth is, if I never start...I'll never get anywhere.

A few of my goals this week are:
  • Go to bed/wake up earlier (....see already I'm snickering at this, and sabotaging the likelihood of this happening.)
  • Start decorating the bathroom, or paint kitchen cabinets
  • SEt up dentist appt for filling -(yikes)
  • Spend less time on computer
  • Work 101N1001 #3, #13, #36, #41 (And I should probably stop there)
  • Organize my closet!!! (by garment type)
  • Restock Refrigerator (Had to pretty much throw out everything)
  • Read a Book
  • Do Homework X( >:( :(((( (you get the idea..)
And that's to new a small portion, of my page long list.

Just a little something to keep me busy. Can't wait to get started on it!!

Tomorrow.

March 3

Today's' random photos come from Photography class! :) I really should have taken a photo of the "NO FOOD OR DRINKS IN CLASSROOM" sign, along with my soda bottle. The real question here is: Why have vending machines in the building if we can't even drink in the class rooms!??!

Not that anyone obeys those signs.

Speaking of vending machines...

I was very sad to see there was no Cherry Dr. Pepper  in the vending machines today. So I had to settle for Cherry Coke. A VERY.POOR. substitute.

Today really wasn't all that great of a day, but I'm trying to keep this post as lighthearted as possible, for myself. It would be very easy for me to pour my guts about this highly...emotionally straining day; but in this case I would just be feeling sorry for myself, and just sinking deeper into that pit of ....despair?

So I'm just going to look at the good...
  • I got to school & work on time
  • Pompei was an angel at school
  • Wore one of my new scarves
  • Had a nice little juant around UT's campus, and didn't have to drive one of the departments cars to get to where I was going!! (I HATE DRIVING THOSE VEHICLES!!)
  • I think I'll be able to rearrange my schedule so its more dog/family/me friendly..
  • I may officially be broke until Tuesday, but my cell phone bill is paid!
  • SPRING BREAK IS IN 3 DAYS!!!!!!!!!!!!And all the teach's go Yay a week for you to do (1 Essay, 200 photos,<-Yes that is for real, 2 Chapters, 1 quiz guide, 1 reaction paper...what else am I forgetting?)

What Makes Me Sad...

Finding out the colleges spring break, is a week before the county schools.

The reason this is sad, is because two of my friends are school teachers/ teachers assistants and the other two well...one is at the schools daycare, while the other isn't in school, and can jump and run at will. We were planning to road trip it to OK, over  spring break....and while I was iffy about going, I did want to..

But since their break is a week after mine......

Oh well.
