TGIF

TGIF. TGIF.

Coming up with five good things this week was a difficult task. Spring break was amazing, but I knew Monday was going to start the downward slope that is the end of the semester. IF you followed me on Twitter this week, then you got to the minute updates on how my homework was playing out.

I was stressed. And I deal with stress by ... stressing more.

This week I made a conscious decision to do something about my stressors instead of just just trying to sleep them away. Its a MURICLE what you can get accomplished when you are pressured. A MURICLE I TELL YOU.

Twitter will tell the rest of this very dramatic tale.

And yes, they are out of order date wise, but it makes more sense like this don'tcha think? Basically I had all of my homework completed by 11:00PM last night. There is nothing quite like knowing I can come into work without having to stress about turning a journal assignment in, or finishing up last minute things that are due tonight.

These sorts of things happen every semesters, near the end everything falls into place, classes start making sense, and you wondering what the heck you've been doing the past three months.

Better late than never I suppose?

Five on Friday

Stealing this idea from my friend @StephanyWrites

The Good

  • Spring Break! Though having to work while the rest of campus is off kind of sucks, the silence and lack of students has been absolutely blissful. (Introverts rejoice) I can park where I want, spend all day working on homework (BECAUSE OH YEAH I STILL HAVE THAT TO DO), maybe answer the phone twice, then go home and do “whatever” guilt free. Summer cannot get here fast enough.
  • The weather Sunday – Tuesday was amazing and I spent every single bit of time I could out in it. Sunday I ran for the first time in a year and it was pretty amazing, Monday Texas and I went to the dog park and then walked around downtown, Tuesday my co-worker and her partner accompanied Texas and I to another dog park, then went and hung out with another friend.
  • School – Speaking of summer, I have officially registered for Summer classes making this my first official summer school session. My rule has been to leave my summers open, however the current job is such that it doesn't make sense to sit here for eight hours and do nothing when I can be cutting down my time in school. So here we go:
    • ECON: 201 -Intro Economics: A Survey | Online
    • PHIL: 252 –Contemporary Moral Problems |  This class is every day for an hour and half until July, which means I get to use 10 hours of my Annual Leave time for school.  I HOPE THIS PIECE OF PAPER IS WORTH IT!  (It’s not like I don’t have an exorbitant amount of time built up since I literally never use it, but it’s the principle.) But despite that I’ll still get May and the remainder of July off, so it won’t be too horrible..

The Bad

  • Had to go to Court today for speeding ticket I’d gotten in February. The bad thing was I’d just been bragging that I’d made it through a new year without one, and literally. The next day I got one. In my defense, I thought the speed limit was higher than it was, so assumed that my five miles over was safe. Turns out I was more like…. 15 miles over. However the officer was nice and marked it down to 5 miles over.  So after court costs and this probationary period I should be back to … only one ticket on my record.

The Ugly

  • Bubbles – So if you follow me on any other social media aspect you’ll know that she gave us quite the scare on Sunday. I woke up to a bloody trail through my kitchen, so that was fun. So between spending the rest of the day bleeding, attempting to vomit, and refusing to eat or drink I was preparing myself for the worst. But Dr. L was hopeful that this wasn't something life threatening if treated. After three days of fluids, she’s back to her normal cranky, whiny, bouncy self. Bubbles is 15 years old, she’s lost a significant amount of weight in the last couple of months, she’s on daily pain meds, her hearing is mostly gone, she has cataracts in both eyes, and is missing so many teeth it’s not even funny. My dad has been pushing me over the last few months about making an ultimate decision, and while I completely agree it’s still not an easy point to come to. For the most part Bubbles is still very vibrant, and still drives me crazy with her antics. I was always under the impression that older dogs would be a delight to care for as they aged, but this dude… She’s putting some of the puppies to shame in all the stuff that she gets into. You have arthritis, and slipped discs how in the world can you knock over a trash can four times your size girlfriend?  I don’t even know sometimes.

How was your week? Are you as ready for summer as I am?
