Summer Week 4

I'm still in recovery mode, from the "craziness" of last week. I have to laugh at myself sometimes; I'm not some who stresses over big things, but those tiny little details, will send me over the edge sometimes. I've not worked overtime, to this point since, I didn't have time with my school schedule, so I was ridiculously nervous about going into a situation not knowing what I was supposed to do, or where I was supposed to go.

I have this thing about planning...

Work: Overtime
Both days went really smoothly, though I did arrive an hour late on Saturday. Thursday we just sat and made sure all guests had there passes and kids didn't jump off any bridges. Saturday was a lot more intense, since it was the closing ceremony of the event there were a lot more people than on Saturday; and we were told to do bag checks. Everyone was more than willing to have their bags checked, but for me it was extremely awkward to rifle around in someones purse or backpacks. But it was my job, and I did it. :) It was 10:30pm before the arena was cleared enough for us to move from our posts. And too my chagrin we wore short staffed, and were recruited to work the Teen After-Party until 12:30am. I'm a night owl, but not a stay out night owl, and was dismayed too here I had another four hours until I could leave. But the sight of all the food sure cheered me up! Pizza, Corn Dogs, Drinks, Chips, Candy, Snow Cones, Finger Foods, Ribs, Soda, Smoothies, Cookies... Never let it be said Nerds don't know how to throw a party! Even if they had to pay me to be there...... I came home with six pizzas! And NO I didn't eat them all by myself, my house has turned into grand Central Station, with people coming and eating pizza. One of the "perks" of having close "neighbors".

Friends, Family, Dogs...
My Roommate's sister and new husband came up for the weekend, so we had a cook-out at there house on Saturday afternoon. It was fun getting to see them again; I didn't really know them really well when we moved over, and was just starting to form a relationship when she had to up and move to OK cause some GUY asked her too. *eye roll* Just kidding :) I'm extremely happy for her, and glad to get too spend at least a little bit of time with them. Sunday we all went out to lunch after church, and then got together at another friends hosue after the evening service. By that time I was soo tired, I could barely think straight.

Speaking of tiredness Its funny how old habits are ridiculously hard to break. Once my mind realizes its SUMMER, I literally cannot force myself to sleep before 3AM. I'm going to blame my current obsession with the Vampire Diaries. After Twilight's disappointing end, I came across the Vamp Di's at Sam's club, and being in need of new reading material, I got the first book. A week later, I'd purchased books two, three and four.  This series is way creepier than Twilight but I like L.J.Smith's writing style a lot better, than Stephanie Meyers. I know, I know, but its the truth.

Actually I don't have much to say about the puppers on this blog, that's way they ahve their own. :) Its just sounded like a good flow. Anyway I'm off to see if I can hit the hay before 3am....
