November 2: Election 2010

This day has been much talked about among those politically and not politically minded. I can't say I ever remember a Midterm election being so popular. Granted, at the grand old age of 21 I really wouldn't know.


However my plan, is to vote, if I can figure out {1} Where I'm supposed to go to vote and {2} if I can get in and out quickly, and still make it in time for my class this evening. 


Which I really hope I can do, since well, I'll be kicking myself for the rest of the evening if I can't! 


Stupid evening classes. 


I'm voting in this election (hopefully) because I want to feel as if I'm actually being represented by someone who does care about the things I do. 

• Healthcare
• Illegal Immigration
• The Economy
• Education 
• Conservatism 

We'll see if they actually come through. :)

Update: I was actually able to vote, it was so quick and easy it was a little anticlimactic to tell the truth! I was a little annoyed I didn't even get a sticker for my hard work! *sigh*
Oh well, the candidate I voted for won....so hoping for good things this next year?

Vote!

I'm a proud to be an American and to be able to have the right to vote. What I don't really appreciate right now is everyone exercising their right of Free Speech.
But anyways, I went to our local Library around 11:00 AM on Saturday, as that was the last day for One-Stop Early Voting. I had not gotten properly registered ahead of time you see. In fact my form is still sitting on my desk now. When I arrived there were only about 7-8 people out the door, so I was ok with the wait; Midnight was not with me, because it was a weekend, and I'm not allowed to bring her to work with me on those days. So I spent most of the time, txting my friend and listening in on peoples conversations. The highlight of my time in line was seeing a blind lady and her guide dog walk up.
10 people deep, and I started worrying as to whethor or not I could register today, and grabbed one of the volunteers. She promptly went back inside and got me a form, so they would haven't to wait one at the desk.
Once there, another volunteer entered, my info ino the computer, handed me a printout, and I was on to "Station Two". Once there the lady filed away my info..? and gave me a ballot....but as I was taking it, the first voluteer that assisted me informed them, that I was a first time voter.
This sent the whole "crew" into clapping and congradulations, high fives and even a hug!!
I felt very special. LOL!

I hate coloring in circles though. I was so tempted to circle Bob Barr (who in the world?) or write in Somebody, but decided to wait until another time.

There is only one first time for everything!!!

I finished pretty quickley, because I didn't know half the people on the ballot, and inserted my sheet, got my sticker and went on my way.

Truly feeling like an American.
