Its Thursday...!

Sung to the first verse of “Friday” by Rebecca Black
You have to sing this in monotone, otherwise it doesn’t work out.

Great Smokey Mountains - Pic from last weekend
7am, waking up in the morning
Gotta be fresh, gotta get out of bed,
Gotta let the dogs out, gotta do my hair,
Gotta get dressed, gotta feed the pooch(es)
Gotta have my bowl, gotta have cereal
Though never really even eat cereal
Gotta make a list of what I have to do to day
Seein’ everything, the time is goin’
Tickin’ on and on, everybody’s rushin’
Gotta get down to my car
Gotta drive to work, Gotta do my work
Gotta get home, gotta wash my car, and exercise my dogs...

Its Thursday, Thursday, gotta down on Thursday......
…...

Have I annoyed anyone yet? Anyone at all?
Well, that was a waste of time..

Needless to say, I have another busy weekend ahead, and it doesn’t look like this will be slowing down anytime in the near future. To be honest, I’m glad. While there are days when I enjoy my “carefree” lifestyle, it’s been a real drag at times..

So lots of pictures from this weekend coming up? I sure hope so!

Behind The Lens: Wedding Weekend

I took very few photos this weekend, one look at the environment lighting, I knew it was going to be difficult to get  great photos, with what I'm working with. Not too mention, sitting in the seats as a guests, makes it very difficult to get great photos. But the one's I did get I loved. :)
Congrats Mr. & Mrs. Sims!

I Should Be studying...

But..I'm thinking...
Wedding Cake at the wedding I attended Saturday
Thinking about the wedding I just got home from, and how much I don't want to have one. Noo I didn't say I didn't want to get married, but the whole wedding ceremony deal? Its scary.

Today's wedding was nice, very well put together for the couple only to have gotten engaged two months ago. But honestly? I was stressing watching everyone else stress out over little things. While these feeling's aren't new for me, being at another wedding just brings them too the forefront of my mind. Gone are the days were I dreamed of "my" day and what I'd do. Watching my friend in 2009, then my roommate last year has killed all joy at the thought of weddings.

There are too many traditions, opinions, and feelings  to worry about.. in a word.. too many people. Whoever said it was all about the bride? They were wrong. I would know after listening to people stress about what this one would say, or if they did this what would so-and-so think.

I'd be happy to have the pastor, me + future hubby + my immediate family and close friends. That would be a day for me.
And future whomever.
Then we can have a party with lots of well wishers and the like. No cake cutting, bouquet or garter toss or the silly thing you do with the drinks, intertwining hands and what not. WHERE did that tradition come from?

Could I actually follow through with it? Probably not. Not too mention I'm sure future so-and-so would probably like an opinion in the matter, but I don't see myself enjoying the process much.

Why are you worrying about this Erin? I know that's what you're wondering.. well I'm not really, but with the majority of my childhood friends dating, engaged, or married. Its something I'll have to think about more. Which is another scary thought.

You know... I really have a project to finish.

Good Night.

Chapter 8 - August 2011

Another chapter in the year 2011 has officially ended.

While not my favorite month of the year, the conclusion of this chapter, was very bittersweet. The long anticipated wedding, went perfectly, in fact its hard to believe its over.

The Wedding Recap:

Being an outdoor wedding, the weather was a big concern as the day progressed. Throughout the morning and afternoon, the sun had been shining, warming the area to an hair-puffing 96 degrees, however around 4ish, the clouds started to roll in, and thunder and lighting cracked through the skies.

I stared at the sky in horror...surely this couldn't be happening? Everything was set up! C was bound to be stressed about this, what about all the decor? The chairs? Sound equipment?

I needn't have worried, though the wedding site was located about two miles down from my home..it barely sprinkled, while we were drenched with torrents of rain!

Thank you God!

As one of the un-official photographers/baby-sitter I arrived an hour+ early to get ready. C was very relaxed and enjoying her day as queen of the manor. I believe a direct quote was: "People are actually listening to me and doing what I want! I like this!"

"Enjoy it while you can!" - was my reply.

Despite the drizzle to cool it down, the weather was still un-bearably hot, and I believe I stated these three words "Its soo hot" about 300 times as I monitored the little girls, who were handing out water and fans.

Then it was time to start...

I ran back in, to the air-conditioned dressing room to grab my cameras and went out to resume my duties as photographer...

Though, my sister and I watched most of the ceremony from the sanctuary of the air-conditioned dressing room (the windows looked out over ceremony), it was still very sweet. Of course D (C's Husband <-- Did I just write that!?) had to add some jocularity to the ceremony, but spraying breath fresher in his mouth, and sticking on some rubber lips before kissing her. (without the faux lips of course :)

My father (who was also the pastor) had to speed up the ceremony at one point, because it started to rain. By the time the guest were released to the reception area, it was coming down in earnest..though I didn't hear any complaints, probably due to the fact, everyone was soaked from sweat.

While D&C took their couple photos, we all descended on the food.

Chicken Salad, Pasta Salad, Broccoli Salad..and lots and lots of pies. So many people stayed up working on the food for this wedding and it was amazing.

Before we knew it, everything was over, and we were left with the clean up, and attempting to cope with the fact that our friend/sister/roommate had just left us. For good.

Reality Check

Though it took me a while to get on board with the whole 'roommate' deal; after a year of living together I have gotten used to having another person around.. in many ways, its helped me let go of some of my more...selfish ideologies, and thought processes...and in others it was nice to have a non-family member to talk to at the end of the day.

On the flip side..I'm not all that sad about not coming home to stuff piled around in my newly cleaned/straighten kitchen, living room or bathroom. However, having only myself to grumble at for the mess isn't as fun, as complain about someone else as you clean the moldy dishes etc..

But once I've finished gloating about not having to do x-y-z anymore. I still miss her. :(

Will there be another roommate in the future you ask? In a word? No.
Not unless I'm married to him.
And believe me when I say that's in the far future.

More on that in another post.

August 2011
I can't believe its August already!
School starts in 27 days...
Guess who didn't complete their FA forms by the deadline....
My birthday is in a month...<22!>
Summer is drawing to a close..
I can't believe its August already!

The End.

My Simple Things

The Simple Things

This was one of those weeks, where finding the little things, that made me happy is a little difficult.
Life is changing, for many in my inner circle, my roommate is getting married and moving away.
My parents are moving away..
Loosing my free internet..(I know how selfish of me)
I just left another job...
Things that aren't really super stressful (well besides the wedding) but very emotion ridden.
I don't want to even TRY To be happy.. but I can still be thankful..

I appreciate...

♥ Having at least one window air conditioner
♥ Being able to have had 1 year with my roommate
♥ Knowing that she has a great guy to take care of her
♥ Having my own car (Still can't believe its all mine!)
♥ Earning an extra $100 this week...
♥ Sunshine
♥ Caffeine
♥ Doughnuts

What do you appreciate? Be sure to link up with Jessyln Amber!

The Royal Wedding

If you'd asked me about the Royal Wedding a couple of weeks/days ago, my response would have been I could have cared-less. Its not that I didn't wish the Royal couple well, but I honestly had other "more important" things to think about. Such as..finals, and etc..

However, I couldn't resist the temptation to look at the highlights on YouTube, after seeing my Facebook and Twitter pages full of Wedding Watchers...

Four Hours later, I'd not only looked at all the highlights, I'd seen the re-broadcast of the entire wedding, the engagement pictures, the interview prior to the wedding, and "live" texted it too my friend, who was working...like I was doing...in between songs. lol.

Really the songs were....long, and frequent. What was up with that!

It was like something out of a Disney movie in my opinion, the carriages, the finery, the pomp and circumstance, her dress!

I wonder how much the Royal Couple had to say in the wedding ceremony, itself, or if it was a "traditional" royal wedding...whatever that might be...:)

Of course, there were haters.. "This money could have been used to help the poor", "I don't get the big deal about the wedding".....yada yada. I smile and shake my head at those sad, bitter people. Just because YOU don't have that much money...

I mean, really do you honestly believe those same people would "SHARE" their wealth if they had it?

Anyway, it was nice to have HAPPY to tweet/talk about versus all the Tornado's, destruction, and loss of lives that's happened in the last couple of days...but more on that later.

I mean really, how many times does a girl get to marry her Prince?

I just want to wish The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge a happy life together....

miscellany monday

[1] I seriously thought I was first hand ...listener.... to a mid air plane crash this morning. It was just thunder after all. But scare the bahgeebas out of Pompei and he hopped straight up onto the bed, and on top of me. What's funny is Bubbles didn't even blink an eye, and she's the dog that freaks OUT over thunderstorms. Come to think of it she probably thought it was a crash too...
[2] Three page paper on the "The Case Against Perfection" by Micheal J. Sanders is due tomorrow. Just writing an analysis of the paper and weather or not his method of writing is effect for the audience its aimed at. Fun times I tell you.
[3] Another bird flew into my house on Thursday; this one however, was much smarter than our last little visitor, and calmly walked around the house, with my roommate close behind. We eventually closed it in the dogs room, and shooed it out of the window.
[4] Congrats to my friends Ben and Vanessa we went down for their wedding this weekend. Another one of "my crowd" getting married. Its a little scary!  Had a blast hanging with friends and such like. The weather was perfect for their wedding and the impromptu soccer game afterwards. :)
[6] Now that its 12AM and I still haven't finished/started my paper..I think I will eat a Twix Ice Cream bar and go to bed. I'm ready for school to be over, I'm at the point where I don't care anymore I really don't. I'm ready for it to stop already. But alas in a few weeks I add another class to my already CRAZY schedule. *soobs*

Last Weekend

Life is back in the slow lane again, and it feels sooo good!! But anyways, had one of the funnest, wettest, busiest weekends...Saturday rather.

Normally after camp meeting we have a big picnic with all of our out of town guests. The weather stations had been reporting rain, rain, rain all day Saturday, but some of us...ok me, was very optimistic that it would be beautiful day.

Needless to say my hopes were squashed at the sound of pounding rain in the morning. Which immediately made me decide that Ira would need to sit out this picnic, (which was to go on rain or shine) After waiting about an hour after it was scheduled to start, we loaded up on umbrellas and towels, and headed out in the rain.

Which was still POURING DOWN. Everyone was huddled under shelter, eating, talking and having a great time.

Eventually some decided that a little water wouldn't hurt them and dove outside to play volleyball. While we (smart ones) stayed under the shelter and watched the park turn into a lake...or a ratha large pond.

Once everyone was throughly water logged, we made plans to do something INSIDE later, and I split for work.

Two hours later was on my way to Gatlinburg TN, to go Ice Skating!! I have never been, but used to roller-blade Alllll the time. It took some getting used to the thin blade of the skate but once I did, it was fun!

Once they kicked us off the ice...(they were closing) we all walked around the Bass Pro Shop...massive all things camping-fishing-hunting-store......it had Starbucks..:)

I headed home ASAP as I was seriously dragging and my dogs had suffered another day crated, so I went home exercised them and crashed.

A Great day IMO.

The Wedding

Wow its been a while since I've posted. I have so much to do and say, its kind of hard to know where to start up again.

The biggest event of Fall 2009, was my friend Trinity's Wedding.
This was one of the first wedding, where I was intimately involved; not so much as doing stuff, but I was with them at their planning meetings (and socialize my dogs), went on shopping trips, took her bridal photos, took photos at the wedding, and was the pianist. So there was a lot of time, and preparation, put into that.

It turned out beautifully! I didn't find out until late that I was supposed to play the prelude, as well as the soloists songs; so I was stressing about that, but in the end it turned out well. I ditched the music I'd planned, and made up something pretty. No one ever knew the difference.

*phew*

They had one of the best receptions I've been too, with games, and commentary about the Bride and Groom, that kept everyone entertained, and not thinking about their growling stomachs.

We'll miss her so much, but am so glad she's found "The One". :)

Trinity's Bridal Photos

My dear friend Trinity married the love of her life, this afternoon; but a couple of weeks ago she asked me to take her dress photos.

I was...nervous, I mean I'm only working with a dinky 18 - 50mm lens. (which I hate) But I think they came out fine :-)

Music

I am a pianist, and have taken piano lessons for almost 10 years. I have played, classical, jazz, gospel, contemporary, rag...you name it.

And I love playing the piano, but lately I find that since I'm not taking lessons anymore, I don't have too much desire just to sit down and play. I like having a goal to practice toward..such a recital or competition or something.

I'm one of those weird people who like performing in front of people; its a challenge to memorize 15-20 pages of music and play it in front of my peers.

But once again I get a chance...to at least perform...my friends wedding! Yes I'm playing for her, and all accompany singers.

Songs:

Prelude: Classical Stuff something long and boring to every else except me :D

When You say you love me - Josh Groban

I've finally found someone - By Barbra Streisand <3

And another song to which I do not have music yet....Yikes!

Now that's scary! But I have 4 months or so to practice!!!! Guess I'd better get cracking!!!

{The Wedding}

Congratulations to Tesia and Josh on their wedding!! It was beautiful!! (I LOVED her dress)
Josia
We left from our home yesterday at 12:30 PM drove for 5 hours to Alabama, stayed for about three hours before starting home at 9:00PM and driving for another five hours back to North Carolina. My dad drove until 12:00-- then I drove from that time till 3:54 AM...switching off with my mother once we got to the mountains...cause she doesn't like driving that in the dark.
Spiked up on Mountian Dew..and Determination; we made it safe and sound.
THANK GOD.
