New Glasses [Part 2]

Those of you who have been following along for a bit, know that I 'updated' to a fresh pair of glasses in the early summer. I'd had high hopes for those specs, but they fell short. So when my dahling puppy doodle decided to dispatch of said glasses, to say I was disappointed would have been a lie.

Well I did have a moment of panic, when I couldn't find my old pair of glasses, and had to wear my prescription sunglasses around, but luckily I located the old ones in a box headed to Goodwill. [HUGE SIGH OF RELIEF]

So when I restarted my quest for new glasses, I was once again faced with a decision. Do I go with something bold? Or go back to tried and true?
Do I get the bold orange frames? Or the bland black ones? After a few days of ponderation (yes I made that up), I took the plunge and went orange. Just to clarify orange isn't my favorite color, but I really liked the shape of the frames, and couldn't find the same in any other color. Of course the day after I got them, I found the same pair in all white. #headdesk

I will admit I was scared that I wouldn't like them. If that was the case I'd be stuck waiting another week plus for a new pair. While Zenni Optical is reasonably fast, I was so sick of wearing my old, scratched lens, on-the-verge-of-falling apart frames. However as soon as I put them on, I knew it was love. Or....at least a deep like. Or something...

My family? Didn't share my opinion. My mother goes.. "Oh my! Did you know they were crayola orange?" Yep. Sure 'nough did. My brother: "I can't believe you got those! I didn't think you would wear them in real life!?" My dad: "What do you have on your face?"

Everyone else: "I LOVE YOUR GLASSES!

And now you know why I don't value my families opinion of things (like this) very highly. ;)

However. After several days of wearing them I am realizing that I may have to purchase another pair, simply due to the fact that... neon orange doesn't go with *everything* They are a lot of fun, but. Yeah.

New Glasses

One big goal I've had for this year, was to upgrade my glasses.
When we had insurance, we'd get new glasses every two years.
Needless to say without that, nothing happens..

This Tax season, I knew one of my purchases had to be glasses.
Something completely different than what I'd had before.
So when Dr. Biz.er's World promoted their Buy One Get One free deal, my friend and I jumped at the chance to get cheaper glasses.

I thought I'd picked out glasses that were completely different that my old ones, but weeks later, and people I see everyday STILL haven't recognized that I got new specs, I would say that was a complete and udder fail.

Yes I just said udder.
It was coming out that way, and since I'm all about being real, I just left it.

Cause in real life I have my own dialect.

Things like elovution - other wise known as evolution. Yeah.
I'm so sick of having to correct myself, I just leave it, and let people figure out what I meant.

But I digress.

Do I love my new lenses? Well.... not particularly. I couldn't afford to get non-glare lenses so the glare in these are horrible. And they are a lot bigger than what I thought, when trying them on.

But considering I only paid around $50 for them. I'm keeping them.

Before
Luckily for me, getting glasses shouldn't be a huge deal from now on, with places such as Zenni Optical around... $16.95 for a pair of prescription sunglasses? Yeah. We should be fine.
After
